In the 1990's it was decided to start a coffee morning with the aim to provide somewhere for people in the town to meet and have access to a warm drink and a friendly face as an alternative to the commercial coffee shops.
Take - A - Break started by providing coffee and biscuits at no fixed charge, but rather to accept a donation. This was partially because we where concerned that the less well off in the town could not afford to visit one of our many coffee shops.
We still operate without a fixed charge, and the generous donations given, enable Take - A - Break to be self financing.
Lesley runs Take - A - Break every Monday morning and she is assisted by volunteers from the church on a rota basis.
In addition to tea and coffee, we now have available free Christian literature for those looking for information or exploring the Christian faith.
You are welcome to drop in and enjoy a drink and to ask us more about the church.
