Annual Ramble and Sponsored Walk - 2001

Ten of us left the church at 2.30 on an cloudy Sunday afternoon, and headed west along the river Slea, collecting Jean on the way.

Enjoying the ducks and other wildlife, we arrived at the A15 by pass and proceeded to cross and continue west

Passing the new free range egg farm and steering clear of its electric fence, we came to the section where we had to traverse the wood. It was here that we realised that we had forgotten our machete's as the nettles had seen good and unrestricted growth.  Battling through though, we arrived at Rauceby to be met by Carole with refreshments.  Also with Carole were Dean, Claire and Molly who were to continue the walk with us.  After a short break, 'onward' we went, now 14 in number.

At 5.10 the first of the walkers arrive at the home of Geoff and Cath, in Ancaster, for a welcome drink.  Once the remainder of the walkers and those that elected not to walk arrive, we enjoyed a nice afternoon tea.  Out thanks to all who prepared it - it was great

And after tea we joined together as a church with a few people from the village
