Sports evening

Sports Evening

Previously known as 'Over-25's sports' or 'Crumblies', this is our sport's evening!
Initially for those over 25 years but of late we have allowed younger members to join us. We welcome our youth to come along and try pitting their energy against our skill (if 'skill' is the right word?)! The evening is all about enjoying exercise.

We currently play badminton (for physical exercise) and a couple of people play chess (the mental exercise!). Other games aren't ruled out and table tennis is sometimes played.

It all takes place on a Monday evening, starting at 7.00pm with a refreshment break in the middle for those who like to take time out for a chat instead of running around the court all night. We finish around 8.30 pm.

As you can see by looking at the hall, the badminton court runs right up to the walls and has some low beams. This gives rise to a set of local rules, (ie inner beam is a 'let', outer beam is 'out') but we'll explain these if you come along. The standard of play varies, and we aim to have fun, improve our badminton and take the game serious or not, depending what mood we're in. - You are welcome to join us!
