BEE - Brigades Embu Exchange

Here is a report of the trip from Kelly.....

"The exchange took place between the 13th and the 25th April. It was a team of 11 individuals from various companies around the south Lincs district. From Sleaford, it was Carole Jackson, the captain of the Girls Brigade, Grenville Jackson the lieutenant of the first Sleaford Boys Brigade, June Porter, the treasurer of the Girls Brigade, Laura and the young people were, myself, Becky and Libby. From the 2nd Spalding Boys Brigade Company was Ben, From Bourne Boys Brigade Jonathon, the captain of 1st Whitelsey Girls Brigade Sylvia Hill and District Executive, Anne Grief.

The idea behind the exchange was from the last time that Carole and Grenville visited Kenya, the idea of young people from the brigades of England visiting their brigades and their young people to come and visit ours, on a permanent exchange every year or so.

Our visit was the first part of the exchange program. In the first week, we visited many companies in the Embu diocese of Kenya. The second week we took easy and went to look at some local sites around Embu. The first week ended up being very hectic, travelling every day to many different parts of Embu to meet the companies. During this week we had the program organised for us, by Sister Lucy, who joined us on the visits and also bought her daughter, Joanne, on a few of the visits for us to meet.

The second week gave us a chance to sample the local sites a we visited Kanburu Dam and took a tri round Abedare Park and the Nairobi National Park for two different Safari experiences."
