We turn the tap on and it is there! But how often do we think about how it gets there. We have a water industry geared to bring us clean and safe drinking water, but it is not so in many other countries.
It is not unusual to see people walking miles in Africa to get the essential water they need for cooking and drinking, and on 26th October we brought to Sleaford the image of people having to carry water as part of their daily routine.
As a further fund raising event, the 1st Sleaford Boys & Girls Brigade carried over 1000 litres of water covering a distance of around several 10's of kilometres, delivering it to a central container in Sleaford's main shopping street (Southgate).
Thanks to those who donated on the day and to those who sponsored the young people.
